It has all the features that you would expect in a Hangouts Mac App. Definetely (and by far) the best one for Mac users! And even knowing that “there’s no free lunch”, this app is a little too much expensive...

I paid for this app, because it is a good rated one, but that is incorrect. This app has many issues. First i have no optiona to configure anything. This app has a really bad behaviour on working with external screen and switching between notebook or notebook + external monitor setup. Everytime i connect or disconnect the monitor, this app flows away between my virtual screen, which is really annoing. I get always tabs for each conversation, but this leads to many issued, when i want to switch to another person. Sometimes there is not history or name an a tab and many more bugs. It feels like i paid the money to be a beta tester for this app. Would not recommend it to anybody..

Perfect! Finally! Thanks to this developer I can finally use hangouts outside of chrome. I like to use a supervised user for work (doesn’t allow extensions), and this app makes it so i dont always have to open a new tab. Thanks!

This app looks like a terrible waste of money. The functionality doesn’t match the screen captures. When you click buttons for Hangouts, it just opens a web browser and launches the Google App there. Existing conversations (from the web-based Hangouts) don’t appear in the interface. The app loaded my GMail Calendar widget, for some reason, and I can’t get rid of it. The “Support” site is a placeholder page that says a web site is “comming”. I feel terribly ripped off and can’t reommend this app to anyone — not even myself.

I downloaded the app and there is no where to input anything. No contacts, no sign in, nothing. Waste of money. I can’t even use it. Afterwards, I found the google chrome extension for free that has all I need.

Simply don’t buy this app. Completely non-intuitive, no preferences menu to customize. Constantly tries to open a webpage and video conversation rather than a simple chat screen

A useful and good looking app and I use it everyday. But lacking multiple account support, the ability to reply from notification bubbles and the ability to hide people list to make window smaller for full-screen splitting.

I was hoping that I could use this app as a replacement for the now defunct Growl voice. The main thing I want is a title-bar widget through which I can send and receive SMS messages. This app doesn’t do that, though. I’ll be getting a refund.

This app does what it says. It allows me to have Hangouts without a browser open. However, the active/inactive tab colors are backwards. This is concerining and one of these days Ill message the wrong person. Overall I think it works well for chatting.

Bit price for what you get, sometimes messages gets delayed (not sure why). I like the clean design though. Wish they can make more stable and less laggy. Hope good updates to come.

This is such a massive improvement over any Google Hangouts apps (Chrome plugin, Chrome app, GMail built-in, etc). It integrates well with the OS’s Dock (i.e. Cmd-Tab works), notifications work well, etc. Hopefully we’ll also get keyboard shortcuts to switch between conversations, start a new conversation, focus the meessage bar, etc!

This app crashes all the time, and the video part of hangouts doesn’t work. I have to log back into chat via Chrome, and then do a hangout with someone for it to work.

Buyer beware. HangoutPlus does not work out of the box with Google Voice and the developers’ support instructions say to install a plug-in from Google to fix the glitch. But this doesn’t actually enable voice calls—you also need to send the developer your UUID and serial for your machine, and they will then send you a link to download and install a patch that allows access to the plug-in on your specific machine. All this, apparently, because Apple doesn’t allow this level of system access to an app. Which begs the question… If Apple doesn’t trust the app to have access, should you? I for one will be requesting a refund instead and, sadly, switching back to using Google Voice in a browser.

This app works well but needs two improvements: (1) Ability set a font size preference. (2) Ability to squeeze down or hide the list of conversations on the left so that the width of the application window can be more narrow.

has lots of potential but seems to be abandoned/ignored by developer. one pet peeve is the tabbed conversations (in the right window) which is and could be a super useful feature except the indicator (or lack of obvious indicator) for the current conversation is a killer. I have responded to the wrong thread on more than one occasion. when a new conversation arrives the tab automatically shifts focus to the new conversation (even in the background) but the color of the active tab vs inactive tab are just different shades of gray and are very easy to confuse. also, does not support calls from the app.

I cannot see any of one in my chat window. I tested with personal gmail and GAPS. Both are same problem. Deveoper’s support sites are also not working when I submit a problem.

This program is just a skeletal app with embedded browsers for the Hangout group list and msg list, very little effort done on the part of the designer. It doesnt feel like a Mac native app, it’s buggy and in my opinion hardly usable. Full screen mode keeps messing up and window dissapears. I think I am better off with keeping hangouts in my browser. Waste of money, better spent on a hamburger meal.

Love using this Application in place of the web-based application. It works great and has a simple and clean User Interface. I had one small technical problem with the app, and the developer replied to me within MINUTES to help me out and make sure i was taken care of. 5 stars for this app. Totally worth the money spent!!

This app is too buggy to not be free. I assumed that things would work smoothly because of the now outrageous-seeming price. I was wrong. Fix the bugs please, this is unprofessional quality control. Nothing is more unsettling than clicking one user and seeing a conversation with someone else fill the coversation view. This is a release that should have never gone out…
